Right ear
Transfer 9 sts from stitch holder to a 2.25mm needle. Using a second 2.25mm needle, pick up 9 sts behind 9 live sts (see Techniques: Ears, picking up stitches for ears) – 18 sts.
Change to 2.75mm needles. Work in the round, starting at one side of ear, using a stitch marker to mark the start of the round.
Work right ear following instructions given for pointed ears (see Techniques: Ears).

Using duplicate stitch (see Techniques: Duplicate Stitch), embroider colour charts onto socks as follows:
